Why Youths Must Engage In Political Participation-Centre

Nigerian youths have been challenged to embrace leadership authority to change the face of the nation.
These was the submission of discussants at round table dialogue organised by Centre for Sustained Dialogue in Osogbo, Osun state capital.
It was a forum to discuss youth involvement and engagement in politics for overall development of the country.
The roundtable discussion with the theme youth in politics, an appraisal of the good, the bad and the ugly of 2019 general elections afforded participants opportunity to set agenda for youth in politics and leadership positions.
Speaking, A lecturer with Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Doctor Wasiu Oyedokun said youth must take up challenges of leadership through active participation in politics.
Doctor Oyedokun who noted that youth posses the ability and capacity to change the face of governance said youth was yet to tap their potential in the political space.
On his part, the member elect for obokun state constituency in Osun state house of assembly, Mr Adeyemi urged youth to challenge the status quo and bring their vigour , zeal ,and ingenuity to politics to pave the way for good governance.
Adeyemi lamented that the current political arrangement did not favour youth but emphasized the need for the youth to demand for their rightful positions in the nation’s political system.
In a remark, the communication strategist for centre for sustained dialogue, Mr Saka Waheed said the centre was poised to ensure sustainable dialogue on issues affecting the nation’s political and economic growth.
Waheed maintained that the centre believed that youth remained major stakeholder in developmental stride of the nation hence the focus on youth in politics and general overview of the country multi various challenges.
He hinted that the centre was resolved to continue to engage relevant stakeholders on the nation’s woes with a view of designing sustainable template for national growth.
