Omoworare Supports Buhari On Credible Elections, Condemns Pre-Electoral Violence In Atakumosa
The Senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, Babajide Omoworare has called on security agencies and the government of Osun to bring perpetrators of recent attack on the people of Atakumosa to book.
Omoworare condemned the ‘politically motivated violence’ against the people, describing it as unfortunate and unnecessary brigandage.
He called on the opposition PDP to embrace democratic disposition against use of force.
He also called on the Nigerian Police Force to investigate the DPO in charge of its Iperindo Division and take necessary measures to restore order.
This was contained to a press statement made available to CityMirrorNews by his Media Assistant, Tunde Dairo.
According to Omoworare “it is pertinent that the security agencies are awake to their responsibility, we agree with President Muhammad Buhari that no stone should be left unturned and there must be no sacred cow in ensuring security for APC faithfuls and guaranting free, fair, credible and transparent elections.”
He sympathized with victims of the attack who are residents of Iwara, Olowu, Atorin, Ifewara, Temidayo, Tobalase, Lapaide and Faforiji communities in Atakumosa East Local Government especially the eleven years old girl, Rukayat Balogun who was shot in the leg and her traumatised parents. Omoworare wished her speedy and soonest recovery.
The Senator equally said “our track record in APC as a progressive party with people oriented programmes has placed us ahead in this election, the plan is to destabilise us. We must not be caught unawares”.
