‘King Controversy’ : Oluwo of Iwo land Oba AbdulraSaheed Akanbi’s Unending Controversies Continue

It is amazing how the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, loves to court controversies.

Since he ascended the throne in 2015, his name has almost become synonymous with controversy.

Already, some of his actions and comical displays in public are said to be giving some of his subjects grave concern.

But it seems he doesn’t care a hoot, even as he has been nicknamed ‘King controversy’.

However, if you think the former Canada-based monarch is ready to kick this habit soon, you had better have a rethink.

Just day before yesterday the 15th of December 2019, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Ilufemiloye Telu the 1st reportedly broke up with his beautiful Queen Ms Chanel Chin, the press release was spread at various oluwo’s social media platforms which is signed by his CPS Alli Ibraheem.

This is to inform the general public most especially friends and associates of the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, that Ms Chanel Chin is an ex-queen of his majesty.

This information is necessary for the attention of the general public to avoid representation on proxy or accordance of respect attached to the sacred stool of Oluwo to her.

For personal irreconcilable differences, Chanel Chin ceased to be his Majesty’s queen. We equally enjoin the public to disregard any business transaction or request with her using the office of his majesty.

We wish her the best in her new journey.

This is just one of the many controversies of the king. On June 4, 2019 he was said to have chased and embarrassed an Islamic cleric, Alhaji Nurain Ashiru Adio, out of the prayer ground during the Eid-el-fitr celebrations.

The young king whose ex queen is a foreign lady has been known for his many controversies, he also said sometime ago, that he sees nothing wrong in him being referred to as an emir, a titled basically being used by traditional rulers in Hausaland.

He said: “I can command the rain to stop. I have done it more than once. An oba who doesn’t worship lesser gods, an oba that worships no other thing than God who does not sleep. If you have a pastor that sleeps that you are relying on, you are going to lose. If you have an Imam who has a wife and when he sleeps by his wife in the night, you call him and he can’t pick your call, you know you are a loser. If you have a babalawo as your backbone, your backbone will break. I have only God. It is not about Islam, it is not about Christianity, it is not about babalawo, it is about divinity.”
