How O’Ambulance Staff Saved Pregnant Woman, Delivered Her Baby

The Osun state Ambulance Services Agency Unit at Naira and Kobo in Ikire yesterday assisted a pregnant woman named Mrs Janis Hannah who was travelling in a commercial bus from Ekiti to Ibadan.

The woman suddenly burst her Amniotic Sac and started draining liqor with severe labour pain around Ikire axis, this incidence put the driver identified as Adeolu and the other passengers of the bus into a state of confusion, but for the Strategic Location and quick response of the O’Ambulance staff, who in less than five minutes arrived at the scene and promptly rushed the woman into the ambulance and delivered her of a live healthy baby.

The woman who was filled with joy said she was supposed to be due for delivery in two weeks time, according to the Expected Delivery Date (EDD) of her Ultrasound Scan, she however give Glory to God and appreciated the government of Osun and O’Ambulance for setting up such a scheme that renders free, direct, immediate and on the spot emergency services for people, regardless of their status and state of origin.

She said she has never enjoyed government in such a wonderful way in her life, she said ‘Nigeria will be great, with what I have experienced here today, I belief there is hope for Nigeria’.

When contacted the General Manager of Osun Ambulance Services Agency, Dr Olusegun Babatunde said he was very happy about the development, he said the agency is being restructured in order to serve the people of the state better, he said his target is to reduce the medical emergency response time to maximum of five minutes.

He also appreciated the state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola for supporting the agency, he said the Governor is always positive about the agency.

The General Manager also praised his staff that took the delivery, and he advised the mother of the baby to make sure that she present herself and the baby at a standard hospital for post natal care and proper immunization for the baby.
