Cleric Charges Journalists To Rescue Nigeria From ‘Political Pastors’
By Niyi Olutunde, Akure
The President, Unification of Cherubim and Seraphim Churches in Ondo state, Primate (Dr) Ade Ademisokun Turton has called on journalists across the country to rescue the society from “political pastors”.
Speaking with journalists in Akure at the weekend, Primate Turton expressed concern over the increase of those he described as political pastors across the country.
According to him, most pastors are living on fake and dubious lives which they found difficult to sustain as a result of which they become prayer contractors to sustain their standard.
He therefore called on journalists to exercise their right as the watch dog of society by exposing those hiding under Christianity to earn a living.
The clergyman also charged journalists to emulate Luke in the Bible who was not one of the disciples but gave accurate report of what transpired during the life of Christ.
Commenting on the security in the country, Turton said government should be proactive and sincere, adding that a situation where government allocate money to terrorists is unpatriotic.
Turton also condemned the political elites for being self centered by catering for their pockets and their immediate family members.
His words, “what is happening is a warning signal that all is not well with the nations security, kidnapping, issues of Boko Haram and ritual cases are threats to peaceful coexistence among the people”.
