Elections: Osun Lawmaker, Olatunji Urges Electorate, Politicians To Eschew Violence

The honourable member representing Ife North State constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly and candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming March 2nd election, Babatunde ‘Lekan Olatunji has urged the good people of his constituency and Nigeria at large to allow peace to reign before, during and after the coming elections.

Olatunji noted in a statement issued that electorate need to keep faith with the process and be patriotic while exercising their civic responsibilities during the February 16th and March 2nd elections.
He admonished Nigerians not to sacrifice their future for immediate gratifications and shun every form of electoral vices capable of disrupting the peace and harmony of their dear country.
“Election is not a do or die process. It is instructive for all candidates to always admit that democracy centers around the people.
“If the people want you they will vote for you and if it is otherwise,so be it. It is not for any candiate or political party to be terrorising the people you claim you want to serve or attempt to force yourself on them.
“For the sustainable development of our dear country and quality representations at the parliament, it is extremely important for all eligible voters to come out in large numbers and vote for the right candidates and party. Our party is irrevocably committed to the greatness of Nigeria”
Olatunji expressed his deepest appreciation to the good people of Ife North state constituency for their unalloyed support and love for him and his party, promising not to take the privilege given to him for granted.
He later enlightened the eligible voters on how the ballot paper is going to look like, explaining that it is only the party’s symbols that will appear on the ballot paper.
