2019 Polls: Council Boss, Takes Campaign To Rural Communities, Urges Electorate To Vote APC
By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The Chairman of Ede North Area Council in Osun state, Hon. Uthman Mukaila, popularly known as Beile, on Saturday said the council has began it’s door-to-door campaign for re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari, his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and all other candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Mukaila and other APC party loyalists, traditional chiefs, market men and women, students, and farmers thronged the major streets of Owode-Ede, the headquarters of Ede North Area council, to canvas vote for APC.
The campaign train also moved to Kajola, Agbodo, Jagodomu, Adejumo among others communities under the local area council.
The council boss explained that the door-to-door campaign exercise, initiated by the council, was meant to attract bulk votes for President Buhari, his Vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo as well as APC candidates in other elective positions.
He enjoined both party leaders and individual party members at their respective unit levels to continue with the door-to-door campaign to pave way for 100 per cent victory for the party at all levels.
While also appealing for collective votes from the electorate, the chairman assured that victory for Buhari and Adelere Oriolowo, Osun west senatorial candidate, Hon Adejare Bello, APC reps candidate in the district and Barrister Dawud, state house Assembly candidate, was a victory for all Nigerians, hence the need for all to join the vanguard train.
He said the country had witnessed rapid development under the watch of president Buhari in the last three and half years.
He noted that the immediate past Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has done well in the construction of roads in the rural areas which had given the village dwellers opportunity to convey their farm products to the cities, the footsteps which his successor, Governor Gboyega Oyetola is following.
He further explained that apart from roads constructions, the ex-governor also distributed transformers to many communities in the area council which he also started distributing, saying the only way to appreciate the APC led government was for the people of the area to come out en masses and cast their votes for APC come February 12 and March 3 respectively.
Urging people to stay back and protect their votes Mukaila said “I want to assure our people that we will ensure their interest and votes are protected
“We will not allow hoodlums to steal their votes as they normally do before.
“I want to appeal to the electorate to vote APC candidates at all levels, I want to assure you that it is the only option to sustain the democratic dividends being enjoyed in their areas.” he said
Mukaila also used the opportunity of the campaign to educate electorate on how to guard against vote voiding, saying they should use their index finger to cast their ballots instead of their thump.
Promising to deliver block votes for Buhari and all APC candidates Mukaila expressed optimism that all the candidates of the APC would emerge victorious in the coming elections.
Among the council chairman’s team are the Baba Kekere of Owode-Ede, Asipa of Owode-Ede and some notable chiefs in area council.
