2019 General Elections
ADP Gubernatorial Candidate, Jon Temlong is Still in the Race – Campaign Council
By Jide Afolabi, Jos
The Campaign Council of Brigadier General Jon Temlong (rtd) of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for Governor in Plateau state has said that their candidate is still in the race noting that their candidate was not considering stepping down for any candidate while advising the electorates to dismiss the rumour.
The Council in a press release today, Friday signed by ADP’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr Danjuma Dickson Auta (JP), said that the Council was inundated with the propaganda making the rounds that the gubernatorial candidate has stepped down from the governorship contest.
The statement said that it was the, “usual last minute campaign pattern employed by charlatans, a decoy and blatant mischief from desperate politicians who are hell-bent on circumventing the will of Plateau state citizens.
“We wish to state categorically that the ADP gubernatorial candidate in Plateau state, Gen. Jon Temlong is still very much in the race as we move towards occupying Little Rayfield.
“It is on record that the people of Plateau state have resolved collectively to move away from rhetoric of cheap propaganda to “Putting Plateau First”, hence their decision to support Temlong of the ADP as their next Governor in 2019.”
Auta called on all citizens of Plateau state to disregard the lies being traded by rumour mongers and vote massively for the ADP come Saturday 9th March 2019 in both governorship and State House of Assembly elections.
This statement has however officially put to rest, the recent rumour that the ADP gubernatorial candidate, Brigadier General Jon Temlong (Rtd) has stepped down for another candidate.
