Ramadan: AGF Congratulates Muslims, Urges Islamic Adherents To Reevaluate Service To Godi
As the Muslims month of Ramadan begins, a sociopolitical organisation in Osun state, Asiwaju Grassroot Foundation (AGF), has urged Muslims to use the season of Ramadan for deep reflection and spiritual rejuvenation towards greater service to God and the state.
AGF in a message to Muslim faithfuls in the state and across the nation to herald the month-long Ramadan fast, the group noted that fasting is a profound religious experience that brings people closer to God.
In the message signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Tijani Sikiru and Secretary, Yahaya Adeniji and made available to CityMirrorNews on Monday, in Osogbo, enjoined Muslims to use the period to re-evaluate their service to God and mankind.
AGF said: “We must use this period of Ramadan to rededicate ourselves to the service of God and our communities stressing that beyond abstaining from food and drink, Muslims must resolve to make the greater sacrifice of eschewing vices that slows down unity and progress.
The group also admonished Muslims to reflect on and strengthen their relationship with the Almighty Allah, and urged all men and women of goodwill across the state to pray for Governor Gboyega Oyetola during the fast.
The group added that the great Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), described Ramadan fasting as a period of multiple reward cum prayer’s acceptance.
They however, urged all Nigerians to advance the frontiers of love and responsibility to one another.
