Try Other Zone; Forget Osun -Group Dares APC

Ahead of September 2018 Osun governorship poll, Coalition of Concern Progressive Youths (CPY) a group within All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun state, has warned the leadership of the party, not to consider zoning ticket of the party to other zone other than Osun West in the spirit of fairness.

Should the ruling party give its ticket to another Senatorial District, the group said the party faces a bleak future in the state.

CPY noted that West Senatorial has credible people that can continue with good works of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, adding that by picking a governorship candidate from any zone aside Osun West Senatorial District, the progress recorded by the state under Governor Aregbesola would be truncated.

The group, in a release signed by its coordinator of the group, Mr. Korede Ajibade and made available to CityMirrorNews in Osogbo on Monday  said it has uncovered plot by some chieftains of the party to armtwist some ‘decision makers’ in APC to give its ticket to a zone that left power just few years ago.

The statement reads: “We have it on good authority that some people are working towards arm-twisting the leadership of APC to get the governorship ticket of our party zoned to a Senatorial District that left power just few years ago.

“Osun West has credible people that can sustain legacies of Governor Aregbesola. We won’t take it laying low while some elements that want to reverse Osun’s gains will work towards destabilising our party”, the statement concluded.
