By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Adelani Baderinwa, on Saturday said the ongoing Local Government election had so far been peaceful and successful based on the turn out and conduct of the electorate.
Baderinwa while speaking with journalists in Obaagun, Irepodun Local Government Area of Osun, said he marvelled at the turn out of voters at the various wards he monitored.
“I marvelled at the number of people that turnout at the various wards. Even reports reaching me from other areas of the state indicates good turnout.
“This success was because government of the state has done everything and put in place necessary machinery to make the election successful.
“Everything was done by the government as if it was a general election and I am happy the people came out to show they are with us and with our party.” he said
Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the Chief of Staff to the Osun Government, in his own remarks commended the Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) for promptly deploying election materials to the voting units and centers.
Oyetola said the turnout of voters has also been quite impressive based on the record of voters at polling units he had visited in his town of Iragbiji in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun.
“The election has been peaceful, fair and free. The turnout has been quite impressive too.
“People turned out in large number without manipulation. I think democracy is actually growing and things are getting better day by day.” he said
