Pomp, Pageantry As APC Loyalists Register Solidarity For Aspirants During Meeting
There was a celebration galore at the Osun State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Secretariat, Osogbo when the loyalists and supporters of some aspirants for the coming gubernatorial election slated for September 22, this year stormed the party secretariat to register their solidarity for their choice candidates.

The party leadership had summoned all the aspirants contesting on the platform of APC to a meeting to discuss the modalities with which the party primaries election be conducted.
CityMirrorNews correspondent who was at the party secretariat located along Gbongon/Ibadan road, reports that some perceived aggrieved members of the party who had boycotted the party secretariat for about three years ago were seen exchanging pleasantries amongst the members of the party.
Speaking with CityMirrorNews, the Director of Publicity of the party in the state, Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, said the meeting was called to appeal to the aspirants on the way to go about their campaign with a view to have peaceful process.
Speaking on why the party has refused to lift ban on political activities in the past months, he said APC was concerned about peaceful process and how it would win the election.
He said the ban may be lifted after the meeting on Monday, maintaining that aspirants would be given level playing ground.

on the platform of the party have been banned from going out for any activity regarding the coming governorship election.
While some of the aspirants have tactically ignored this direvtive and embarked on quasi-campaign, while, aspirants like the Secretary to the state government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, Osun Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Najeem Salaam, Peter Babalola, Dayo Oyebamiji, Bola Oyebamiji have overtly remained mute.
It was gathered that efforts are still ongoing to persuade Adeoti to step down for the widely speculated governor’s choice, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, who presently holds sway as the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Expectedly, the agitation for Osun West Senatorial District to produce the next Governor might turn out to be the last stroke that will be break the party’s camel back.
