Strange Deaths Visit Community For Dispising Benin Monarch

A terrible afflictions which led to strange deaths have allegedly hit Iguomon Community in Uhunmwode Government Area of Edo state state.

The Community was cursed by the ancestors of Oba Ewuare II for allegedly committing sacrilege against the kingdom.

The grey-headed male and female elders of the Community who besieged the palace of the Oba of Benin on Monday in Benin City, confirmed the report to newsmen.

The elders who were in tears, moved in droves to the palace to plead for a revocation of a curse placed on Iguomon Community over four years ago by the Oba of Benin.

The former officials of Community Development Association(CDA) in the Community, now outlawed, according to reports, were said to have perverted native norms of Benin which necessitated the curse.

The group appealed to Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II to consider the approval of Mr. Roland Okhuarobo as the Community head (odionwere) of Iguomon.

The visibly remorseful elders of the Community, lamented their acts of disrespect and disloyalty to the royal father with a pledge to  to refrain from all forms of violation of traditional norms in order to  avoid further premature deaths.

It was yet to be ascertain whether steps were already been taken by the palace to resolve the calamity which had set the Community on edge.
