NGO Organizes Seminar For Youth On Skills Acquisition

A Non Government Organization, Ooye Foundation, has promised to work towards improving the standard of living of the people in rural areas.
The NGO also pledged to empower people on how to be self reliant by training them on small scale businesses that would in turn reduce unemployment and the number of job seekers in the society.
Speaking, the founder of Ooye Foundation, Hon. Al-Maruf Ooye Adedokun disclosed that the foundation is ready to contribute to the development of Ejigbo through the empowerment programme.
Adedokun stated this at the lecture and presentation of certificates to the participants of a three day self empowerment training programme organized by the foundation at the Tailors hall, Odo-Igbo, Ejigbo, Ejigbo local government.
The Ejigbo born politician said that the programme is generalized to members of the public irrespective of their political affiliation so that it will help to boost the economy of the town.
According to him, “the program was organized to contribute to development of our community, our fatherland and its necessary to give back to Ejigbo local government”
“If the trainees start working on what they have learnt, the economy of the town will be boosted”
“I thank God for the first training program we just concluded and another one is coming on board after Ramadan festival for the market women while farmers will receive farm materials.”
A journalist and radio presenter from Rave FM Osogbo Mr. Adedayo Oderinu advised the participants to avoid short term loans when planning to engage in a business.
Oderinu said that the percentage of interest on short term loans is abnormal such that it can kill the investment at the early stage.
He charge them to have records of the capital spent so as to know the actual amount of their profit after the production chain has been completed.
