Court remands 60-year-old Man Over Alleged Fraud of 1.million In Osun

An Osun State magistrate court sitting in Osogbo, the state capital has ordered the remand of a 60-year -old man, Kasali Buremon in Ilesa prison custody for allegedly defrauding a woman to the tune of 1,020,000 with pretence of selling two acre and two plots of land to her.

Buremon was docked on Wednesday before magistrate Olusegen Ayilara on a two-count charge bothering on fraud.

The prosecutor, Mr Oladiran Ayodele told the court that the defendant committed the offence on August 12, 2014 at Osogbo.

He, explained that the defendant fraudulently obtained the total sum of 1,020000 from Mrs Adefolaju Mary Ajani with pretence of selling her two acres and two plots of land which was false.

He said the accused converted the money into his own use.

The offence according to the Prosecutor was contrary to and punishable under Section 1(1), 1(3) and 390 (9) of the advance Fee Fraud and other fraud related offence 2006 laws of the Federation of Nigeria.

The plea of the accused was not taken by the court due to the nature of the offense committed and he was represented by Barrister Mrs Dada Adeyinka.

The magistrate while ruling ordered that the accused be remanded in custody at Ilesha prison custody.

The case was adjourned till may 5 for mentioned.
