Osun 2018: ADP Promises Agricultural Revolution, Better Deal For Workers
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Osun State has promised to embark on agricultural revolution should the party be voted into power during the September 22 governorship election in the state.
This was contained as part of speeches delivered by the Deputy Governorship Candidate of ADP, Prof. Adeolu Durotoye on behalf of Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti during a Town Hall meeting organized by Germany-based Friedrich Ebert Stiftung for governorship candidates for members of the Federation of Informal Workers of Nigeria (FIWON) in Osogbo and mammoth crowd of party members in Ijebu-Jesa, headquarters of Oriade Local Government Council Area of the state.
According to him, in view of the available abundant agricultural resources in the state, what is needed would be the innovative political will to positively turn the fortune of the state average farmers around.
“What is therefore needed is the political will and collaboration with like minds to move the state agricultural sector to the next level.
“Our team is currently talking with members of the business community to guarantee creation of jobs and employment of our youths once voted into power,” he stressed.
The ADP Deputy Governorship Candidate further assured teachers and other workers in the state of prompt payment of their salaries and other emoluments once in power.
To workers in the informal sector of the state, the ADP leader promised them that, as a vital sector of the state economy, members of FIWON in the state would have access to stress-free credit facilities that will take their businesses to another level.
“No responsible government can afford to toy with the welfare of FIWON members in view of their roles as greatest employers of labour and drivers of the economy,” Prof. Durotoye stated.
While speaking at the FIWON members event, the ADP Deputy Governorship hopeful reteirated his party’s resolve to have zero-tolerance for abandoned projects scattered across the state.
He however promised to complete all projects abandoned by all previous administrations, You while the ADP government, once at the helms of the state affairs, would ensure that all projects embarked upon are completed on schedule.
“Our administration, once voted into power, would have zero-tolerance for abandoned projects scattered across the state.
“We however assure you that our team would complete all projects abandoned by all the previous administrations, while all those embarked upon by us would be completed on schedule,” he stressed.
He therefore admonished members of the electorate on the need not to sell their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC), as some unscrupulous politicians are allegedly going round offering large sums of money in exchange for PVCs.
