NUJ Congratulates Falope On Election As PMAN President
Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council has congratulated far-famed musician, Mr. Gbenga Falope Jr on his recent election as the national president of Preforming Musician Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
The A-list high life crooner was recently elected as the national president of the flagship body for musicans in the country.
NUJ in a statement jointly signed by the chairman and secretary of the Union, Comrade Abiodun Olalere and Boladale Bamigbola, noted with satisfaction the contributions of Gbenga Falope to the music industry in the country and described his new post as “well deserved”.
According to the Union, besides Falope’s exploits in the music industry in over two decades, which has put Osun and Nigeria on the world map, the music impresario deserves commendation for providing jobs for several youths, who work in his band as artistes and technicians, thereby positively engaging them.
The statement further reads: “The election of Mr. Gbenga Falope Jr. as PMAN president is commendable and evidenced high respect the music industry in Nigeria accords him.
“Beyond the personal honour the new position confers on Falope, Osun, his state of birth and residence will also henceforth featured prominently whenever issues relating to the music industry in Nigeria is discussed.”
Expressing hope of a more robust synergy between PMAN under Falope’s leadership and Osun Council of the NUJ, the union declared that, in line with the Aregbesola administration’s resolve to package and promote “Made in Osun” products across the globe, newsmen in the state will continue to give prominence to activities of the association.
“Falope is “Made in Osun product” and Governor Aregbesola has given us that assignment to promote across the globe made in Osun products. In strict adherence to that directive, newsmen in the state will continue to give prominence to activities of PMAN under Falope’s watch. We wish him successful tenure of office,” the union concluded.
