Osun Lawmaker, Olatunji Embarks On Education Awards, Charges Students To Embrace Academic Excellence

The Lawmaker representing Ife North State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Babatunde Olatunji, has called on Teachers and students of the constituency to draw inspiration and developed self confidence from professionals towards achieving their respective goals in life.

Olatunji who gave the advise on Friday in Osogbo, enjoined teachers and students to embraced the ” Tunde Olatunji Education Awards and Mentorship Series ” which he said would take place on May 14, this year at Origbo Community Unity Middle School, Ipetumodu.

He said the Education award is aimed at promoting, rewarding and celebrating academic excellence in all elementary, middle and high Schools in Ife North State Constituency.

The lawmaker said no fewer than 150 persons would be benefitting from the awards which would serve as a form of encouragement to most teachers and students within the constituency.

According to him, award Recipients were thoroughly screened and objectively decided by a joint committee of all major education stakeholders in Ife North State Constituency.

The Honourable further said that the beneficiaries were selected not on political lines , religious ,and ethnic consideration but on competency and hardworking.

Olatunji noted that right value system that will prepare students to become leaders and inspire them to greatness should be inculcated .

He added that Combining mentorship with academics would provide students with the necessary tools they need to succeed.

Olatunji, however, said that the foundation would continue to build mentorship programme to drive significant personal and professional development in our Middle and High School Students.
