2018: God Will Choose The Best For Osun But I Prefer Iwoland Man –Oluwo To Lasun
Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has reiterated his preference for an Iwoland man to succeed Governor Rauf Aregbesola in November 2018. He noted the central power of God in electing/appointing leaders into serving positions. According to him
“Only God appoints and elects. That power remains an exclusive asset of God which no one dare question. In 2018, only God will choose for us but I prefer Iwo man”
The disclosure was made by the first class monarch in his palace while receiving the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf on his governorship consultation to Iwo.
According to Ali Ibraheem, the Chief Press Secretary, Oluwo of Iwo, Hon Yusuff Beseeched the royal blessing and support of Oba Akanbi, Ibraheem said Hon. Lasun established the position of Iwo as tight to physically drum their support for his ambition, praying the monarch to give him benefit of doubt as home base candidate.
Responding to the request, Oluwo declared his preference for candidate from his immediate domain, Iwoland, saying his region, despite been the bastion of progressive governance and instrument of the past successful governments in the state is marginalized for years.
Oluwo said his preference for a candidate from his political constituency is to break what seems a curse in his domain and be the first father of a governor from AYIWOLA Federal Constituency.
Hon. Lasun lauded the leadership acumen of Oluwo pleading for a benefit of doubt to lead Osun State. Oba Akanbi prayed for the honourable that God should lead him to the right part. He pleaded with him to work with the state government for the interest of the party in future contests.
“I am a father for all irrespective of your location. All Nigerians, even Biahri are my children. Lasun, you are also my child. But I discovered my children in Iwo Federal Constituency are marginalized. They should be given an opportunity as well but God is the best planner” said Oluwo
