This was the verdict of a host of leaders of the PDP at Parakin, Ile-ife to where his campaign opened up an interactive session in which party faithfuls vouched for his integrity and pledged to ensure his success at the primaries and in the subsequent governorship election.

In his characteristic display of humanitarian gesture, According to the statement made available to newsmen by Comrade Olalere Fagbola, Director of Publicity, the financial expert and chairman of Mutual Benefits footed the medical bill needed by one of the stake holders of the party and gave out One hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N150,000.00) to settle the hospital fee of a victim of road accident.

Dr Ogunbiyi had highlighted his programme of action to the delight of the leaders under the chairmanship of Hon Isaac Durojaiye, Alhaji Wasiu Folorunso, the local government youth leader among other stalwarts who cheered him, even as he thrilled his hosts with poetic and oratorical prowess.

“I am a village boy. If elected, none of our youths would be used as a political thug. We will make life bearable for people and consider women as an essential partner in our government” he said.

Dr Ogunbiyi expressed grief over the plight of teachers, unemployed youths and poor parents whom he noted were victims of paucity caused by the current government.

He therefore sought for the support of the people through their votes, adding that a PDP-led government under his leadership would revamp the economy.

Streaming from the same altruistic spirit with which he is pursuing his peace and reconciliation mission in the PDP the State, Ogunbiyi also charged co-contestants that none of their ambition is worth more than the unity and sanctity of the party.

Amidst his bright prospect of clinching the party’s ticket going by the amazing rapidity with which his name and popularity keep spreading like wild fire all over the state, the Chairman of Mutual Benefits shocked party stakeholders yesterday when he told them that for him winning the primaries is not a do or die affair.

He made this stand known at Ife Ijesa constituency where his teeming supporters across five local government areas gave him resounding reception, keying into his vision for Osun State and pledging to ensure his victory at the polls.

“I have sought for the understanding of Co-contestants that they should support and work with me if I eventually emerge as the party’s flagbearer while I have also assured them that I would stand by anyone who wins it,”he remarked.

The governorship aspirant who described PDP as the model of democracy in Nigeria and the hope of the masses, urged that all of them owe it as a sacred duty to put the corporate interest of the party above other considerations.

Dr Ogunbiyi however stated that he is disturbed as a result of the poor standard of education and lack of motivation for workers in the state, stressing that his PDP-led government would support women with grants, provide jobs for the unemployed and give scholarship awards to students.

The governorship Aspirant later donated a new motor cycle to one of the party’s loyalists at Ife North and applauded chairmen across the councils for the warm reception accorded him during his campaign.

It was a show of standing solidarity for the governorship aspirant at the Area Office, Modakeke where Aare Onigbinde Dele poured encomium on him for his spirit of altruism. At Ife Central Mr Adebowale Adedotun and other delegates advised Dr Ogunbiyi to stick to his campaign promises, adding that they have all resolved to vote for him.

It was the same pleasant experience at Ife North where Alhaji David Olawale and other party stakeholders expressed confidence in him and pledged support for Dr Ogunbiyi while praying for him that his victory is assured.
