No Regret On Alleged Marginalisation Of CPC Members, Says APC

Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that it does not regret the alleged marginalisation of the legacy members of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC) in the state.

The state chairman of APC, Mr. Anselm Ojezua was apparently referring to the aggrieved CPC members in the state who had accused the state APC of sidelining them in the  merger deal of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANP), and a faction of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which fused into APC in 2015.

Ojezua stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria which was monitored at 0600hrs by our Correspondent last Sunday in Benin City, Edo state Capital.

The state APC chairman explained further that the emergence of Comrade Godwin Erhahon as then state APC publicity Secretary “was borne out of the benevolence of the governor Oshiomhole”.

He however argued that “no amount of slander would stop the emergence of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the party’s National Chairman in the party Convention” in the days to come.

In the heat of the raging controversy, former Edo State Chairman of the defunct CPC, Comrade Godwin Erhahon, raised an eyebrow to Mr. Anselm Ojezua’s comment on radio Nigeria, describing the CPC alienation as injustice.

He charged authorities concern to redirect the APC to the path of Progressives by sticking to the letters of “the guidelines for the 2014 merger which made it mandatory for every legacy party to be part of the party structures across the Country” not to trigger unintended consequences ahead of 2019 polls.
