Diran Odeyemi, a former spokesperson of Senator Iyiola Omisore, has opined that the former Deputy Governor needs to bury his governorship ambition.

Speaking on a Rave fm programme, Oro Oselu in Osogbo on Monday, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP who spearheaded the Ife-born politician governorship campaign in 2014 said Omisore’s has lost the grip to become the Governor of Osun State.

Omisore recently moved to the Social Democratic Party SDP after the state congresses that did not produce his preferred candidate, Bayo Faforiji as Chairman.

“I’ve been a close ally of Omisore for a long time. I know what he can do. He has not joined SDP. Even if his supporters have burnt the PDP flags and issued statements on his behalf, I am still not convinced.
“He (Omisore) has not come out publicly to denounce his membership of the PDP. He is a well experienced politician whose onions have gone beyond contesting the Governorship seat.”
“He has been doing that for years without any fruition. My view is that he should bury his governorship ambition because he is more than that and seek higher offices than that of a Governor. Results of former elections have shown that he cannot be Governor in Osun,” Odeyemi noted.
