Speaking with newsmen at Oyo ,the party chieftain noted that the statement credited to senator Lanlehin at a meeting that ticket should not be given to those that had not held an elective office was least expected of him.

Chief Ogunlade added that there was no basis for such unguided claim in the party constitution.

The attempt by a section of the party to work against the people interest will spell doom for them.,Ogunlade declared.

According to Ogunlade, such a move by a section of the party has no basis in the party and nigeria constitution citing the cases of former governor of Ogun state, otunba Gbenga Daniel who had never held political office but contested and won and governed the state for 8 years

He also cited Governor Ayo fayose, Dr kayode Fayemi and others adding that they all contested and performed excellently well, wondering why Engr makinde should not be given a chance come 2019 adding that such a statement should not be made now so as not confuse the electorate or heat up the polity.

He said that as at today, both politicians and non-politicians are routing for Engr Makinde to emerge as next Governor for Oyo state to save the state from maladministration of APC led government.

Speaking on the coalition of some aggrieved politicians, chief Ogunlade described the coalition as a failure, adding that “it is another attempt to revive failed 3rd term agenda in Nigeria.”
