Oba Ile Celebrates Monarch’s Anniversary

The people of the ancient town of Oba Ile, in Olorunda Local Government Area of Osun State are in a joyous mood. and they have very reason to be.

Their Traditional ruler, His Royal Highness, Oba Adekunle Asamu Oyeyemi, Tewogbade 1, the Oloba of Oba Ile,
would be one year old on the throne Friday 14th and his subjects have rolled out the drums to celebrate.

Oba Oyeyemi who was installed Oloba of Oba Ile, on Sunday, 1st January, 2017 and was subsequently presented Staff of Office and Instruments of Appointment by Osun state goverment on Friday, 7th April, 2017.

A number of activities which has been lined up for the event according to the Oloba of Oba Ile 1st Coronation Anniversary Planning Committee would begin from Friday, 14th April, 2018.

According to the committee, Some prominent Nigerians have been selected for honourary chieftaincy titles by the monarch.

One of the activities marking the coronation anniversary is the conferment of chieftaincy titles on some prominent individuals, who have made their marks in their different callings and contributed immensely to the advancement of humanity.

In recognition of his noble roles in the promotion of the welfare and wellbeing of ‘Omo Oro Loba,’ Oba Oyeyemi will confer the chieftaincy titles of Asiwaju and Yeye Asiwaju on Chief and Mrs. Samuel Olu Alabi.

Other notable citizens to be honoured are; Chief and Mrs. Chris Seyinde Ogunrinde, Canadian based health care providers, who are to be honoured with the chieftaincy titles of Otunba Atobase and Yeye Oloba of Oba-Ile respectively while an Ilorin-based prominent businessman, Chief Adedotun Ajala will be installed as Bobajiro of Oba-Ile.

According to the statement “The grand finale of the event will hold at Aderounmu Grammar School, Oba-Ile with the participation of prominent royal fathers and traditional leaders in Yorubaland under the distinguished chairmanship of His imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife.

“The ceremony will also witness the launch of OBA-ILE EDUCATION ENDOWMENT TRUST FUNDS, an intervention support scheme for brilliant but indigent students of Oba-Ile origin.

“We rejoice with Kabiyesi and the entire people of Oba-Ile on this milestone, it is our prayer that the good Lord will continue to grant Kabiyesi the heavenly wisdom to lead Oba people aright”.
