Osun Govt Releases 40m For Payment Of Fresh 400 Pensioners
The Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has again approved the release of the sum N40 million for another set of 400 pensioners in the state.
A press statement signed by the Head of Service, Dr Olowogboyega Oyebade, on Tuesday said the sum is meant for the payment of pension of 148 retired secondary school teachers, 250 retired civil servants and 2 retired parastatals workers.
According to Oyebade, a sum of N25m, N14.8m and N200, 000 were to be paid to the retired civil servants, teachers and parastatals workers respectively.
He explained that the beneficiaries of the money are the 3rd batch pensioners, stating that payment of pensioners is an on-going exercise in fulfillment of the government’s promise on payment of gratuities and pensions based on first come first serve criteria.
