Breaking: Pioneer ICPC Chair, Justice Akanbi Is Dead
Retired Justice Mustapha Akanbi, the Pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (lCPC), is dead.
The 86-year-old former President of the Court of Appeal and first Wakili of llorin, died in the early hours of Sunday at his GRA residence in llorin.
Reports say he had been sick.
Dr AbdulRahman Ajidagba, an associate of Akanbi and lNEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Nasarawa State, confirmed his death in llorin on Sunday.
Prof. Mohammad Akanbi, one of the sons of the late octogenarian and a professor of law at the University of llorin, also confirmed the death of his father.
Already the GRA residence of the late jurist has begun playing host to hundreds of symphatizers who throng the residence to pay their condolences.
