Osun Council Lawmakers Reiterate Commitment To Grassroots Development Through Laws Enactments

The leader, Irewole North-East Local Council Development Area ,LCDA in Osun state, Hon Ademola Owoade has said he and his co-parliamentarians are committed to the grassroots development through enactment of laws that would have direct impact on the people of their areas.

Ademola made this known while reacting to an Economic Drafted Bill presented before the parliament by one Hon Sunmoye Adeyemo for perusal before it is finally passed into law.

CityMirrorNews reports that since the introduction of parliamentary system of government at the local government level by Governor Rauf Aregbeeola, the first local government council that would sponsor bill is Irewole North-East LCDA.

Owoade who appreciated the presenter of the bill for coming up with such a plausible idea, said the parliament would welcome anybody with a bill which could assist the government to develop the LCDA.

He noted that as parliamentarians, one of their roles is to make laws that would make life more better for the people of their area, urging people with any reasonable bill to come forward and present it before the parliament for perusal and approval.

He said: ” Everybody is allowed to bring bill. If you have an idea that you want government to work on you can bring it. When you bring your bill, it is our responsibility to work on it and discuss it before we finally approve it.

He therefore reiterated the parliament’s commitment to the development of the area, saying they would do everything humanly possible to ensure that the dwellers at the council area enjoy the dividend of democracy.

Presenting the bill ” Economic Drafted Bill for the Establishment of the Empowerment and Loan Scheme Through a Reliable Financial Institutions” the presenter, Hon Sunmoye Adeyemo said, the bill, if passed into law, would boost the economic development of the area.

Adeyemo said the bill would provide job opportunities for the people residing in the communities and would also provide revenue for the local government council.

He added that the bill will serve as a catalyst for economic development by increasing microeconomic in their communities.

Adeyemo who hails from Unit 3 Ward 11A, Irewole North-East LCDA noted that the bill came out through various researches.

He said:” this bill if passed will build personal relationship between beneficiaries and institutions concerned. It will also help business.

“The bill will enlighten beneficiaries to know what appropriate type of business they should operate due to the nature of the finance involved.”

Adeyemo therefore urged the parliament to favourably consider the economic bill, saying he has a strong desire that microeconomic of the area can be enhanced through this bill.
