By Ayobami Agboola, Osogbo
The leader of the House, Irewole North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Osun state, Parliamentarian Ademola Owoade has called on Christians to always work towards emulating the spirit of forgiveness exhibited by Jesus Christ as espoused by his persecution, death and resurrection on the cross of Calvary.
He also urged them to continue to live in harmony with their non-Christian neighbours for this is what the death of Christ stood for.
Owoade made the call in a press statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen to mark the Easter festivities
He advised Christians to always allow the lessons of arms giving, prayer, good-neighbourliness and righteousness as exhibited by Jesus continue to resonate in their lives after the 40 days Lenten period.
“I wish to join our Christian brothers and sisters in the state and Irewole North LCDA in particular to celebrate the Easter period.
“It is a time to make peace with all our neighbours irrespective of their faiths and beliefs as taught by Jesus Christ.
He therefore enjoined the residents of the council to emulate virtues of sacrifice exemplified by the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary.
He also charged the Christians to use the period to pray for the state especially as the it looks forward to the emergence of new leader.
He, however used the period to enjoin the Christians and other religious practitioners who are yet to collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) to do so in order to be able to perform their civic responsibilities in the forth coming September 22 gubernatorial election as well as 2019 general election.
