A lawmaker representing Ijesa-South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Ajibola Famurewa decried the statement being made by some politicians in Osun State that Governor Rauf Aregbesola is a lagosian, saying that such statement is mischievous and fallacious.

Famurewa who insisted that Aregbosola is not a foreign politician, described him as a good manager of Osun state resources, saying that if not for the economic intelligence and financial prudence of the governor, the state would have been in more financial crisis than it is.

The lawmaker stated this at an interactive session with reporters who were in Osun State to ascertain and inspect the infrastructural projects accomplished by the Aregbesola’s administration on Tuesday.

He said despite the economic quagmire of the state, Aregbesola is able to reduce its adverse effect on the people of the state, particularly on the civil servants and development of the state.

According to Famurewa, the massive infrastructural projects being done by Aregbesola despite the economic downturn reflected his good management of the state’s resources and passion for the state’s development.

Famurewa said: “It is on record that chunk of political appointees and elective office holders in the history of Osun have one time in their working career lived outside Osun. Cases at hand are former governors Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Baba Bisi Akande who lived and worked between Ibadan and Lagos State prior to his election as governor in 1999, among others.”

He therefore enjoined all residents and citizens of the state to rally round the governor as he continues in the delivery of his electioneering promises.

The lawmaker also cautioned ‘mischief makers ‘ to desist from smearing Aregbesola’s image, saying that the governor deserves commendation.
