Oluwo, Police Declare Curfew In Iwo

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi and the authority of the Nigeria Police Force, Iwo Divisional Headquarters, have declared a 5hours curfew to arrest cases of robberies in the ancient city.

In statement made available to CityMirrorNews by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, Oluwo said that the curfew takes effect from today, 25th September, 2017.

The 5-hour movement restriction commences at 12 midnight to 5am every day.

Oluwo noted the hours are critical to fish out the perpetrators of daily house robberies and shopliftings characterizing few strategic locations in Iwo.

The curfew was announced after a joint meeting of Oluwo with security operatives held at Oluwo`s palace.

Oluwo said human and vehicle movement will be strictly restricted within the stipulated hours. Oba Akanbi warned travellers along Iwo axis to be wary of the movement restriction to avoid embarrassment of any sort. He said the curfew is necessary to maintain the sanity Iwo and her people are stereotypically known.

Oluwo condemned the reoccurring reports of larceny, calling on the security operatives; the police, civil defense, local security groups to enact the curfew pronouncement for the interest of the city and her people.

Oba Akanbi described Iwo as a peaceful city devoid of negative stereotype. He urged residents of Iwo to cooperate with the security men and adhere strictly to the curfew instructions.
