Court Jails Pastor for Sodomizing Four Children in Akure
By Oluniyi Akintunde, Akure
For sodomizing some four male children in Ondo state, a Magistrate court sitting at Oke-Eda, Akure has sentenced a 32 year old pastor, Sunday Waleola to three years imprisonment with hard labour without option of fine.
The accused pastor confessed in the court that he had sodomized four children, adding that the victims were all pupils of public primary schools in Akure who he enticed with money.
Waleola who is the founder of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Akure, the Ondo State capital was alleged to have sodomized some male children who were between the ages of six and nine at the premises of his church located in Oke Aro area of Akure.
The court presided over by Mrs Victoria Bob-Manuel handed down the sentence to the pastor after he was found guilty of child molestation.
Trouble started for the prophet when officers of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state, acting on a tip off found him committing the immoral act at the premises of his church.
The legal officer of the NSCDC, Mr Ebiriku David, told the Court that the pastor was a “serial homosexual” who was in the habit of seducing male children.
David said the offence committed by the prophet was against section 32 (1) of the Ondo State Child Rights Law 2017.
Waleola who pleaded guilty to the offence leveled against him, blamed the devil for his misdemeanor.
He said “I would take them to the bush and seduce them before they returned back to their classes, after which I will give them money.”
“I believe it was the devil that led me into the evil act because I would always come back to my senses after I molested the little boys.”
The court thereafter ordered the Pastor to be jailed at Olokuta prison in AKure for three years without an option of fine.
