Police Parade Father, Son, Six Others Over Killing Of APC Chieftain In Ondo

Ondo State Police Command has paraded a 45 year old palm winner tapper, Francis Bekewei and his 22 year old son David and six other for complicity in the kidnap and murder of an APC chieftain, Olumide Odimayo.
It would be recalled that the late APC chieftain, Odimayo was kidnapped last week Thursday by armed men who stormed his Igbotu residence in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state.
He was later found dead on Monday by the bank of the river by youths who were also joined in the search of the All Progressives Congress (APC) local chieftain.
Following the Police action and investigation over the ugly incident, eight suspects were arrested and paraded at the Police Headquarters, Akure the state capital.
Addressing newsmen, the Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Hilda Ibifuro-Harrison, said the suspects were arrested with a 10 mobile phones, 1 Ak 49 rifles and 21 rounds of live ammunition.
Ibifuro-Harrison said the lifeless body of Odimayo, was later found in the creeks of Ajagba while his body has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
She assured that efforts are on to arrest fleeing members of the gang stressing that the suspects would be charged to court after completion of investigation.
One of the suspects, David, who was found with the AK49 told newsmen they collectively plan the kidnap for ransom and expressed regrets that Odimayo died in the river they dropped him while being chased by Local vigilante.
While one of them, Saturday Amos, a JSS 2 class of Arogbo City Academy denied of being partake in the operation saying that he was just arrested of any offence.
