Tourism Remains Our Focus For Sustainable Development In Osun-Oluga

The Special Adviser to the Osun state Governor on Tourism and Culture, Mrs Taiwo Oluga has reiterated the commitment of the state’s government towards sustaining the state’s economy through tourism.
Oluga, who was speaking to a group of newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday opined that laudable feat have been achieved in the sector as a viable alternative for revenue generation and socio-economic development.
She lauded the efforts of the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his unrelenting drive in making all the tourist attraction centres in the state a world class arena for relaxation.
According to her, the proactive step taking by the government of Osun in the face of National economic quagmire in the last few years, by making the tourism sector more economic viable clearly x-rayed the leadership strength of the governor.
“We have put in place necessary measures to address the current economic reality as the state is hell-bent to bring out the best of her tourism sector.
“The decision of the state to turn around her economic fortunes for the betterment of all and sundry, thus informing the need to pursue sustainable socioeconomic paths.
“It is on record that the present administration ably led by Governor Rauf Aregbesola has not only revamped tourism sector bit make it more functional.
“The government of Osun is opening a robust economic path through culture and tourism, for the purpose of making the state more self-sufficient.
“We shall not rest on our oars in making life better for our citizens in all ways and without blemish”, Oluga said.
She referenced to the recent event where an epic Yoruba movie entitled OSUNFUNKE was premiered in the state, which featured leading stars in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
