Kidnappers of Ondo Traditional Ruler Reduce Ransom to N3m from N15m
Three days after holding the Oniyan of Iyani in Akoko are of Ondo State, Oba Joel Sunday Daodu in captivity, the kidnappers have reduced their ransom demand from N15m to N3m, CityMirrorNews learnt.
Oba Daodu was arrested on Saturday along Ose Oba Akoko axis of Ikare-Owo Road, almost the same spot where the Regent of Akungba Akoko, Princess Oluwatoyin Omosowon, was kidnapped about two years ago.
Family of the Oniyan had reportedly offered N500, 000 to the kidnappers but it was turned down.
According to a family source, the kidnapers have reduced their ransom to N3m which should be paid today before 9 a.m.
The source said the leader of the kidnappers called family members and requested that the N3m be paid unfailing today.
It was gathered that the council of chiefs in Iyani has been making move to raise the money to secure the release of the traditional ruler.
