Osun By-election: PDP Makarfi Faction Forms Alliance With SDP, Vows To Emerge Winner

Ahead of July 8 by-election of Osun West Senatorial district in Osun state, the Ahmed Makarfi’s faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have tentatively pinched tent with Social Democratic Party, SDP to present their candidate.
The parties while addressing journalists on Thursday in Osogbo, said they have unanimously agreed to present Hon. Michael Ajibade Falade, as candidate to contest the Osun West Senatorial bye-election under the platform of SDP.
Osun West senatorial district seat became vacant at the National Assembly following the death of the first civilian governor of Osun, late Senator Isiaka Adeleke on April 23, this year.
Hon. Falade was a former member of the House of Representatives between 2007/2011. He represented Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo federal constituency under the PDP.
Speaking, Falade said he was ready to contest the election, assuring that he has everything it takes to win the election.
“I have the required experience as former member of the House of Representatives. The national assembly is a place where experience count a lot.
“I know what is going on in the four local government I have represented. It is going to be a serious business. We are going to put in everything possible to win the election.
