Osun 2018: Zoning Is Anti-Democratic And Manifestation Of Mediocrity
I made bold to say that any idea of clearly disenfranchising any senatorial district from contesting Osun gubernatorial election is nothing but mediocrity in full blown manifestation.
Any sane society knows that the right of “all” people to vote and be voted for is the hallmark of democracy, while our issue should be on credible governance, we must not close our eyes to political shenanigans that some group of people are perpetrating, any one in and from Osun can contest the governorship seat and if such enjoys the patronage of the majority of the people , so be it.
Canvassing for only one senatorial district out of three is not only greediness but a short sighted move to plunge our democracy into problem. Whoever wins, genuine democracy must not be truncated on the altar of selfishness and parochialism.
In this part of the world, we must rise above any sentiments that may becloud our sense of reasoning, democracy has come to stay in our land and we shall resist any group of people who are seeking to undermine the ethics and tenet of democracy for selfish interests and thus advice such people to stop their political brouhaha for continuation of genuine democracy in our society.
