NGO Organises Free Cataract Surgery
A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Forum for Nation Builders and Social Development in collaboration with El-Magrib Catholic Eye Foundation will on Wednesday and Thursday this week organize a free surgery for cataract patients in the state.
A press statement by the Chairman and Secretary of the FNBS Planning Committee, Chief Babajide Bewaji and Comrade Ismaeel Uthman, on Monday said the surgery would hold at the Atlantis Civic Centre, Beside NASFAT, Ring Road, Osogbo by 10:00am.
The group said the cataract surgery is in continuation of the free eye treatment it organized in 2016, adding that over 888 people benefitted from the programme.
According to the press statement, about 52 cataract patients were detected during the free eye treatment, prompting the group to forge ahead on its social responsibilities programme and eventually organize a free cataract surgery.
The group urged members of the public, particularly the 52 cataract patients that were detected during the free eye treatment to make use of the opportunity and get to the venue of the surgery on time.
