Mad Woman Gives Birth To ‘Betty Akeredolu’ In Ondo

A mentally deranged woman has given birth to a female baby at Ilutitun in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo state.

The woman whose real identity was yet unknown to people of the community gave birth to the baby at a nearby bush.

It was gathered that passerby who saw the mad woman were in complete shock when she gave birth to the baby in the public.

Although, learned that no man has since claimed responsibility for the newly born baby.

However, the new baby has been named after wife of the Ondo State Governor, Betty Morenike Akeredolu after a birth certificate was issued to her.

The Okitipupa Local Government which issued the birth certificate has also take responsibility of the baby on behalf of the Ondo State Government.

Residents who spoke to our reporter said the mentally deranged woman was in the habit of soliciting for alms in the street and sleep at available makeshift.

One of the residents, Dayo Abiola, said no one could actually tell who got the mad woman pregnant in the community.

“We were called this morning that a mad woman who always walk through our street has given birth to a baby.

“It was surprising when many of us got to the scene and saw the woman with her newly born baby lying on a dirty bed inside the rickety bush”, he said.

He added that the baby was later moved to the facility of a government hospital in the area by sympathizers in the area.
