Communal Clash: Ooni Sets Up Truth and Reconciliation Committee
The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has set up a truth and reconciliation committee to investigate and make recommendation on the clash between Hausa and Yoruba people in Ile-Ife.
Members of the committee, according to source, cut across the major ethnic groups residing in Ile-Ife and representatives of the palace.
The committee was inaugurated on Saturday at the Ooni’s palace.
CityMirrorNews learnt that representatives of the right and left chiefs of Ooni are also part of the committee.
The Objective of the committee is to investigate the causes of the clash between the Arewa and Yoruba community, make recommendation on how to forestall future occurrence and provide suggestions on how the various ethnic groups would be living together peacefully and harmoniously.
