Osun LG Caretaker Committee Membership Tears Aregbesola, SSG Apart
- Adeoti Protests ‘Political Humiliation’
The relationship between Governor Rauf Aregbesola and the Secretary to the Government of Osun State, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti might have gone sour following the appointment of caretaker committee in all the 61 Local Government of the state.
CityMirrorNews learnt that the appointment of the caretaker members in the three Iwo local governments did not go down well with Adeoti, who is the leader of the All Progressives Congress in the Iwo Federal Constituency.
It was gathered that Adeoti threatened to resign in Aregbesola’s cabinet over what he described as ‘political humiliation’ being meted on him by the governor.
Sources at the Government House where the incident occurred at the weekend said Adeoti was specifically furious over the removal of his candidates on the list of Iwo Central Local Government caretaker committee.
CityMirrorNews gathered that the SSG told the governor that he did not like him, hence his readiness to resign from government.
However, Aregbesola was said to have explained the reason behind the removal of the Adeoti’s candidates but the SSG did not buy the explanation.
There are insinuations that Aregbesola was working to collapse the political structure of Adeoti ahead of the 2018 governorship election.
