It would be recalled that the State Police Command extended invitation to Omisore and other over assault netted on late Senator Isiaka Adeleke last week and expected him to explain his roles in the alleged assault.

Our findings however revealed that Omisore is yet to honour the police invitation.

Instead,  Omisore said that the police invitation was aimed to frame him and scuttle his ambition to govern the state come next year.

The meeting which was presided by Governor Rauf Aregbesola also received report on the concession of Ido-Osun Airport and expressed satisfactory over the arrangement.

The government condemned the negative criticism by the opposition against the project urging the people of the state to be vigilant and not allow the opposition sabotaging the lofty gesture of the project.

The government noted that the crime allegedly committed by Senator Iyiola Omisore assaulting late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke in one of the hotel in 2014.

According to Fasure,  “the council was briefed on the invitation extended by the police to suspects who were alleged to have assaulted the former governor of the State of Osun, late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, in an Osogbo hotel in 2014.

“The Council held that the invitation is in order, agreeing that we are a society of law and order. That a crime was committed three years ago and the victim has passed on, does not mean that justice cannot be served or that a criminal should escape justice.

Fasure said further that “council received report on the concessioning of MKO Abiola International Airport, Ido Osun, to All Works of Life Development Organisation (AWOL International Limited). Council expressed satisfaction on the arrangement and urged all the parties to do everything possible to deliver the first phase on or before the eight months envisaged in the agreement.

The State government however condemned the campaign of calumny embarked upon by the opposition, saying the falsehood being peddled by the party is not just opposition rhetoric but a grand plan to scuttle the project. Council then admonished the people of the state to be vigilant and not allow them to sabotage this lofty project.

Others issues deliberated at the council meeting include the announcement of the passage of Jide Tinubu, son of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and observed one minute silence in his memory and prayed for the repose of his soul.

“All producers and marketers of bottled and sachet water in the state have been directed by Council to obtain certification for their operations and products from the relevant agency of government. This is necessary to safeguard public health and prevent water borne diseases.

“Council directs all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government managing and carrying out economic intervention programmes in which an individual benefits to the tune of N100,000=00 and above, to bring all such individuals into the state’s tax net for the purpose of collecting tax from them.
