“The Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II on behalf of all the descendants of Oduduwa worldwide expresses his heartfelt commiseration over the sudden death of Mr Jide Tinubu, the eldest son of the former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu which sadly occurred in Lagos on Wednesday November 1st 2017′”.
“Even though customs of our land disallow a reigning Oonirisa from visibly mourning any death from the time of our forefathers. Words are certainly not adequate to measure how Baba Ooni feels about this ugly incident that has bedeviled not only the Tinubu family but also the entire Yoruba people, Nigerians and Oodua race across the globe.”
“Considering his impressive profile, Jide must have been parentally well brought up to succeed in life with an undoubted capacity to in the nearest future join in positively moving our society forward just like his father who has immensely contributed to the advancement of our country”.
“Baba Ooni believes that even though the loss of a wonderful child like Jide Tinubu is so heartbreaking, he wants Asiwaju Tinubu and the entire family to rather remain strongly unshaken and continue to look up to the Almighty Olodumare. He also prays that they may find the strength needed to get through the period of healing the wounds caused by the demise of this great young man”. Olafare said”.
