54 Bag First Class In UNIOSUN

The authority of Osun State University has disclosed that 54 students will graduate with first class honours in the 2016/2017 academic session, and a total of 1236 student would graduate from all the colleges of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Labode Popoola, disclosed this in a press briefing organized as part of the activities making the Sixth convocation in Osogbo, on Saturday.
Popoola said that the first class students and 1, 182 others would be awarded first degrees at the university’s convocation on April 6.
The vice chancellor said that 512 students made second class (upper division), 539 second class (lower division) and 129, third class.
He said, the convocation ceremonies scheduled for April 6 would witness the commissioning of projects for academic excellence.
“We shall be commissioning the college of Health Science building, Environmental science building, and a bottled water factory”, he said.
According to him, an iconic library building would also be commissioned and named after the Pioneer Vice Chancellor of the university Prof. Sola Akirinade library.
Popoola said some prominent academic scholars would be honoured during the convocation ceremonies.
He added that the university planned to build residential facilities in partnership with private organizations for the best interest of the university.
Popoola, however, said the university would continue to produce students with good character and moral excellence.
