2 FUTA Students Drown, Die in FishPond

Two students of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), have reportedly drowned.

The victims are Olabiyi Emmanuel from the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Olokun Babatunde of Project Management Technology (PMT).
Speaking with the institution’s Student Union President, Comrade Olaseinde Olayinka, he said the deceased were 300 level students of their department.
According to information, they were at the laboratory for Fishery and Aquaculture, at the back of great hall, Obakekere, the place of their Entrepreneurship training when the incident happened.
An account has it that after the training, the students with two of their colleagues decided to take a selfie on the canoe parked at the laboratory when it suddenly capsized.
While the other two cheated death, Emmanuel and Babatunde were unable to get out of the water which lead to their death.
The SUG President, Comrade Olaseinde Olayinka however urged students of the university to pay their last respect to their departed colleagues.
