Nursing Mother, Prophet, Others, Quizzed for Kidnapping 5-year-old Boy in Osun
Osun State Police Command has arrested a pregnant woman, Arinola Falope, for conspiring with other family members to kidnap a 5-year-old boy, Ojo Adegboyega in Ipetu-Jesa, Osun State.
Those paraded by the police includes: the Prophet in charge of Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Ileri-Oluwa Parish, Arubidi, ile-ife, Sunday Akinboye and his wife, Prophetess Idowu Adewole.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye said that the couple connived with four other people to perpetrate the purported crime.
Other suspects include, Falope Lateef, Tope Akinboye and a 20-year-old nursing mother, Victoria Adebisi whose baby is one month old. Victoria is the daughter of the Prophetess, Idowu. Though, Sunday is not her father.
The CP said the father of their victim reported to the police that his son was abducted and that the kidnappers demanded N2million as ransom and that they eventually took N550,000 from him
The police boss said detectives were deployed immediately and they trailed the kidnappers and apprehended them. He said they had already shared the money before they were caught and arrested.
In separate interviews with news men in Osogbo, all the suspects confessed and narrated their individual roles in the kidnapping of the boy. Idowu said one Alex that masterminded the kidnapping of Ojo has not been arrested.
CP Adeoye said efforts are on-going to arrest Alex and other members of the gang and that the suspects would all be charged to court after the completion of necessary investigation.
