Omisore made the demand in a letter written by his counsel to the chairman of the anti-corruption agency, Ibrahim Magu.
The letter partly read, “We are informed that the publication is not just malicious but falsehood in all respect. Our client has not refused to make himself available to the commission but rather has proceeded to the court to seek protection of the court when he perceived that the invitation was a deliberate ploy to unlawfully arrest and detain him.
“Consequently, we have our client’s instruction to request for a retraction of the offensive publication along with the payment of N500m damages occasioned by the publication to our client within seven days of this letter. Please take notice that if our client’s demands are not met within seven days as requested, we shall be constrained to institute a civil proceedings against your commission and its Head, Media and Publicity for aggravated damages which certainly shall not be limited to N500m.”
