Both Nigerian Government and Nigeria Labour Congress could not reach atruce over the pump price increase which NLC has since Wednesday 18th May, 2016 instructed its members to proceed on industrial strike by protesting the hike.

“It would ultimately become beneficial to the generality of the people instead of enriching the pockets of a few Nigerians, who enjoyed the fraud of the subsidy regime. The president’s decision to reallocate funds once earmarked for the fuel subsidy and commit those funds to other more socially productive services and undertakings was a difficult decision. It was also a necessary one” – Asiwaju Bola Tinubu

OPF said, “by this, Tinubu is indeed a visionary leader, a core democrat, an ideologist and a strategist whose purposeful audacity and analytical sagacity has no other commitment but for the Nigeria nation.

“Asiwaju’s lofty feats in ensuring rancor-free environment by placing Nigeria first cannot but be commended, a testimony to his consummate patriotism and unassailable progressivism, sterling leadership style and commitment to the nation’s economy”
