UPDATE: Police Parade Armed Robbers who Raided 3 Banks in Ikirun
In the wake of the Friday evening bank robbery incident in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area of Osun state, the Osun state Police Command have paraded four of the suspected armed robbers who invaded the three commercial banks.
Daredevil armed robbers attacked the First, Skye and Union banks in ikirun with improvised explosive device.
They were almost making away with over N7.4million before they were stopped by the police.
In the process of gun fire exchange, four of the armed robbers, two policemen and two officials of one of the banks were killed.
The state commissioner of police, Mr Kola shodipo stated three AK 47 rifles, 124 ammunitions, one assault rifle with 12 rounds of live ammunition and a sum of N7, 486, 300 were recovered from the armed robbers with one vehicle.
The police boss, who commended the men of the force for their gallantry, advised the members of the public against clustering in the scene of an incident.
Mr Shodipo who stated that investigation was ongoing for the arrest of other syndicate members wants members of the public to report any suspicious movement to the police.
