Fayose is Fuelling PDP Crisis in Osun state-Group
Controversial Governor Fayose of Ekiti state has been accused of fuelling the internal crisis rocking Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A youth wing of the PDP in the state under the auspices of PDP Youth Mandate has, alleged that Fayose was interfering and meddling in the affairs of Osun PDP.
The group, in a statement issued in Akure, the Ondo state capital on Thursday said Fayose was unnecessarily interfering in the affairs of Osun PDP because of his relationship with the interim National Chairman of the PDP, Sen Ali Modu Sherrif.
Jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Mr Oguntunmbi Adebowale and Alao Adeolu respectively, the statement reads: “it is a known fact that Fayose and the National Chairman of PDP are friends and he (Fayose) has been exploring that opportunity to cause disharmony in Osun PDP.”
According to the group, Fayose is a contributor to the controversies surrounding the conduct of the PDP congress in the state.
The group accused Fayose of mounting pressure on the National Chairman to cancel the Ward congress, wondering what Fayose stands to gain from the cancellation.
“Osun PDP is one big family and has been able to weather the storms that it has faced at different occasions, if Fayose does not keep away from sowing seeds of disunity in Osun PDP, he might not like the consequence of his action.”
The group also urged the National Chairman of the PDP should maintain its stand as father to all as this is not an era of trying to satisfy a particular politician.
It maintained that all hands must be on deck to ensure that PDP takes over the mantle of leadership in Osun state come 2018.
