Nigeria Customs Destroy Over 10 Million Poultry Products in Ibadan

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/ Osun Area Command has destroyed a truck of poultry products that contained 1600 cartons of frozen chicken and turkey worth over N10 million in Ibadan.
The Customs Area Controller, Mr. Temitope Ogunkua who led his men and other security agencies and journalists while supervising the destruction on Thursday used the medium to reiterate the resolve of
the command to continue in its core mandate of revenue generation and suppression of smuggling.
He said his men intercepted one DAF 95 tipper (white head and ash body) without registration number loaded with smuggled imported frozen poultry products along Agunrege/Saki axis of Oyo State at 0630hours on the 18th of July 2016.
Ogunkua who had earlier conducted journalists around three trucks each loaded with 100 bags of contraband rice seized at different locations within Oyo State declared that “Two fairly used DAF truck (blue heads with green bodies) with registration numbers AGL 709 XR and LSD 77s XF were arrested at different boarder locations within the state. They were loaded with imported bags of rice.
“Relatedly, a fairly used Ford bus (red colour) with registration number AJW 144 XA was also intercepted.
“The command wishes to use this medium to reiterate that our resolve to remain resilient and dogged still stands as we continue to re-engineer our operational architecture in the realization and actualization of the service core mandate of revenue generation and suppression of smuggling.
